In less than three months, Innovatis Group was able to tune into one of their largest communities and build a program that incentivized active members to share their voice. Through the creation of the VMware User Group (VMUG) All Star program, the team was able to motivate more than 3,300 members to sign up and entice 75% of them to share their feedback in one or more survey engagements. The more thought the team put into developing a Voice of the Member strategy, the more applications Innovatis Group began to see for this valuable data.

how virtual events bring communities together online

We specialize in creating events for professionals so they can socialize, network, and learn from keynote speakers and each other. For one of our clients, we wanted to expand our community outreach beyond in-person events because they're not as accessible to everyone. Some of our members are time-crunched and unable to get away from the office, or they don't want to be forced to socialize. Also, we have a global audience with thousands of members in countries around the world. An in-person event wasn’t the best way to reach a vast majority of our audience, so we brainstormed ways we could connect with our members outside of in-person events.

When Innovatis Group creates a user group for one of our clients, we look for ways to enhance the member experience and generate revenue for the user group community. One way we do that is through the creation of upgraded memberships. When one of our clients, VMware, created VMware User Group (VMUG for short), there was a need for VMware’s professional customers to increase VMware’s product knowledge and advance their professional careers. The user group initially began as a free membership where members could communicate and connect with VMware. But as we started to listen to our VMUG members, we realized there was an opportunity to give them even more value.

rapid implementation of user feedback improves product launch

Innovatis Group facilitated user testing with the Mitel User Group (MUG) for an upcoming Mitel product launch and assisted Mitel in the rapid implementation of user feedback to improve the product. Users were able to share their experience with the product prototype, in addition to their likes and dislikes, in order to guide the Mitel team. Once information was shared with Mitel’s product team, they quickly transformed the overall look and feel of the new application.

One of our clients at Innovatis Group, the Dell Women’s Entrepreneur Network (DWEN), an organization serving 50,000 female entrepreneurs worldwide, added tremendous value to their membership by introducing live ASL translations and closed captioning to their virtual programs, based on feedback and requests from their members.

In addressing the need to recruit more volunteers, Innovatis Group client, International Avaya User Group (IAUG), revamped the ways it defined, recruited, and recognized the volunteers in the organization and implemented a Volunteer Portal to capture short-term volunteer contributions to better engage the user community.
